  • PATRON’S TROPHY / PRESIDENT’S TROPHY /CAPTAIN’S TROPHY
    • It is the prerogative of the Patron/President/Captain to decide on date of competition, the mode of play and as well as players.
    • The prizes for this competition will be selected, donated and presented by the Patron/President/Captain.
  • CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
    • The competition shall be played annually and shall be open to all SIGC members with current handicap of 18 and below.
    • The competition shall be played over 54 holes (3 days) or 36 holes (2 days) to be determined by the Competition Chairman. The participant with the lowest gross score shall be CLUB CHAMPION.
    • In the event of a tie for the Championship, the gross winner shall be determined by sudden death play-off starting from the 10th hole. For other winners, the SIGC Count Back System shall apply.
    • The priority of the prizes shall be in the following order:
      • Overall Gross Winner (Club Champion)
      • Overall Gross 2nd
      • Overall Nett Winner
      • Overall Gross 3 rd
      • Overall Gross 4th
      • Overall Nett 2nd
      • Overall Gross 5th
      • Overall Nett 3 rd
      • Overall Nett 4th
      • Overall Nett 5th
      • Overall Nett 6th
    • There shall be only one winner for the above prizes.
    • After 36 holes, the Competition Chairman reserves the right to reduce the field to only 60 leading players for the final round of 18 holes.
    • There shall be daily medal prizes for Best Gross and Best Nett score for each day.
  • INTERMEDIATE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
    • The competition shall be played annually and shall be open to members of SIGC with handicap between 9 and 18.
    • The competition shall be played over 36 holes or less(to be determined by the Competition Chairman) on a stroke play mode. The player returning the lowest gross score shall be the SIGC Intermediate Champion.
    • In the event of a tie for the Championship the winner shall be determined by a sudden death play -off from the 10th hole. The other winners shall be determined by the SIGC Count Back System.
    • There shall be prizes for the overall and daily medals for each day, for the Gross Winner, Gross runner-up, Nett winner and Nett runner-up.
  • MATCH-PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
    • This competition is open to male members of the club.
    • There will be a qualifying round of 36 holes for all entries The top 15 competitors returning the best gross stroke scores will qualify to play in the
      subsequent match play rounds. The previous year’s champion will automatically qualify for the match-play rounds. Should he be unable to participate, the next best competitor shall qualify. There is no handicap allowance for this competition.
    • The match-play rounds will be played over 18 holes with the exception of the final, which will be played over 36 holes in one day. The winner shall be the SIGC MATCH-PLAY CHAMPION for the year.
    • If a match finishes all square, the play shall continue in the same sequence as from the 10th hole until one side has gained a hole.
    • The Championship shall be played over consecutive weeks. Except for the final, a match may mutually agree to play earlier before the scheduled date. If no such mutual agreement has been made, the player who is on the tee box on the scheduled date and time shall be declared the winner.
  • WINNERS’ TROPHY
    • This trophy is to be competed exclusively by all individual winners of the
      club’s competitions. It will be based on 18 holes nett score stroke play and each competitor will play off his current handicap.
  • SENIOR GOLFERS’ CHAMPIONSHIP
    • This competition shall be played annually and open to members aged 55 & above on the date of the competition.
    • The club reserves the right to organize the competition based on category of age.
  • MONTHLY MEDAL
    • This competition shall be played on a monthly basis and open to all members.
    • The club shall determine the mode of play and prizes.
  • INTERCLUB GAMES (HOME/AWAY)
    • Pairing of players shall be determined by the Captain and Competition Sub -Committee.
    • Preference to play in “away” games shall be given to those who have
      played against the visiting team during a previous “home” game.
    • Withdrawals from Inter-Club games must be made to the club at least 48 hours before the scheduled tee-off time. Reserves may fill in the vacancy.
    • All food and non-alcoholic drinks shall be served on the House till the adjournment of the function.
    • Each host player shall be docked RM 15.00 for competition and RM 10.00 for ball sweep (Home/Away).
    • Each host player shall sign for the buggy fee of the opponent in the same flight.
  • RABBIT TROPHY
    • This trophy was presented to the club by Mr. Atma Singh Gill, President of the Club 1958 -1959 and is open to members with handicaps of 19 and above. Full handicap allowance is given through out the competition.
    • The competition is for male members and after a qualifying round, the best eight (8) players will be drawn for a knockout match play competition to determine the winner.

    • These competitions shall be played on annually basis and open to members.
    • The club shall determine the mode of play and prizes.
  • EAGLE TROPHY
    • This trophy was donated by Mr. Ortwin, an American visitor to Seremban.
    • This trophy will be competed annually and will be on match-play, four-ball best ball.
    • No pair may enter this competition if their combined handicap total is less than 18 or more than 40 at the date on which entries for the competition closes.
    • The competition will be played with 90% handicap allowance.
    • There will be a qualifying round of 18 holes if the field is bigger than 15 pairs. The 15 pairs with the lowest aggregate nett scores shall qualify for the subsequent match-play rounds, on current handicap. The defending champion pair automatically qualifies, provided that their combined handicap on the day entries close for the competition is not below 18 or not more than 40. Should the defending champion pair be unable to play for any reason. The next best 16th pair shall qualify.
  • GREENSOME STROKE-PLAY COMPETITION.
    • The competition shall be played annually and shall be a Greensome stroke play on handicap over 18 holes.
    • Each pair’s combined handicap shall not be less than 18 or more than 40 at the close of the entries for the competition. The handicap allowance shall be 40% of the combined handicap of each pair at the time of the entries for the competition.
  • MERDEKA CUP
    • This competition is to be played on two consecutive days before Merdeka Day.
    • The competition is open to members with handicap 18 and below, and shall be played over 36 holes. The mode of play is stroke play.
    • In the event of a tie, the SIGC Count Back System shall apply.
    • The second day score shall be used for qualifying for the National Merdeka Cup Final. Those returning a nett score of 74 and below will qualify for the National Merdeka Cup Final.
  • CRISP CUP
    • This is an individual match-play competition with full handicap allowance, open to all members with handicap of 18 and below.
    • There will be a qualifying round of 18 holes if the field is bigger than 16 competitors. The 16 competitors with the best scores shall qualify for the Crisp Cup Competition.
  • GENERAL
    • The competition committee reserves the right to vary, amend, repeal or add to any of the above rules where and when necessary.
    • All challenge trophies are the properties of the club and shall, at all times, be kept in the club.

2. COMPETITION RULES & PROCEDURE

  • REGISTRATION
    • Will commence one calendar month prior to the event.
    • Closing date for registration will be three days prior to the event.
    • Members may request for tee-off time preference when registering their entries for competition.
    • Members may register by himself in person or phone.

 

  • WITHDRAWAL FROM COMPETITONS
    • A member who has entered for a competition may cancel his entry at any time before the closing date.
    • In an emergency or sickness, participants may withdraw after the closing date but should inform the club at the earliest opportunity before their tee-off times and a written explanation with supporting documents must be sent to the Competition Chairman.
    • If a participant withdraws from the competition after the draw has been made except in the case of an emergency or sickness, his entry fees, ball- sweep, buggy fees and all other related expenses will be docked into his account.
    • If a participant fails to show up without due notice at the starting time, his entry fees, ball sweep, buggy fees and all other related expenses will be docked to his account and he may be asked to explain in writing.
    • Where a competition stretches for more than a day, a participant who having competed on the first day but does not intend to compete on the subsequent days, must inform the Captain or his appointee immediately upon submission of his scorecard, failing which he may be asked to explain in writing.
  • DRAW
    • The draw shall be final and tee-off times must be adhered to.
  • LATE ENTRIES All entries after the closing date may be considered as late entries but may be accepted with an additional charge of RM 10.00. Preference for tee-off time or choice of partners may not be entertained.
  • REPORTING TIME
    • Participants must report to the Starter at the respective tee-boxes at least 10 minutes before their tee-off times failing which they may be disqualified from the competition and will be levied all competition charges inclusive of ball- sweep and buggy charges.
  • COMPETITION FEES
    • The fees for all competitions shall be determined by the Committee of Management.
  • PRIZES
    • The organizing committee shall determine the prizes.
  • SCORE CARDS
    • Each player is individually responsible for submitting his score card duly signed to the club official within 15 minutes upon completing his games, failing which he will be disqualified.
  • PRIZE PRESENTATION
    • Winners in a competition shall be personally present during the prize presentation ceremony to receive their prizes. Absence without valid reason may cause their prizes to be automatically forfeited. The reason for absence must be submitted to the Competition Chairman or his appointee well in advance.
  • SIGC COUNTBACK SYSTEM
  • In the event of a tie, the following count back system shall apply to decide the winner.
    • For more than 18 hole competition
    • The last 18 hole scores.
    • The second last 18 hole scores(where applicable).
    • The third last 18 hole scores(where applicable).
    • The last 9 hole scores of the last 18 holes.
    • The first 9 hole scores of the last 18 holes.
    • The last 6 hole scores of the last 18 holes.
    • The last 3 hole scores of the last 18 holes.
    • The last hole score of the last 18 holes.
    • Hole by hole backward starting from the last hole of the last 18 holes.
  • Doubts and Disputes
    • Any doubts or disputes arising from a competition shall be lodged with the Captain and Competition Committee no later than 15 minutes after the last flight has submitted its scores.
  • Decision
    • The decision of the Captain competition committee on all matters pertaining to the competition is final and binding.
